About me

I am a native Coloradan, which is hard to find these days, and have lived somewhere outside Denver my entire life. Wait that's a lie, an exception is when I lived in North Dakota for a semester of school and wimped out when the -45 temperatures hit. I graduated from Metro Denver, Dec. 2010, with a degree in Aviation Management and a minor in Marketing.

Before getting my invitation for the Peace Corps, I felt like the hub of a bike wheel with all the spokes representing different roads I could choose. I have been blessed with so many opportunities and could see my life working out with any of the choices. When my invite came, my decision was made, that takes care of 27 months.

I still cannot believe I am going to be living in Africa, it's unreal. Teaching English to a bunch of high schoolers only adds to my amazement. I keep thinking, what if I teach the definition of a word wrong, or the spelling? I will be 100% responsible for making 30+ students incorrect. No pressure.

I enjoy a challenge and cannot sit still for long. My want for perfection is more often a flaw than a blessing. I get what I want, not because it is handed to me or because I am spoiled; I will work until I have it, and right now I want to learn about a different culture, help out where I am able and maybe figure a little about myself along the way.

I love God, my family and friends, my dog Myleigh, working out, music, traveling, creating anything- except food, taking risks, the outdoors, people in general and decorating.
